Award-Winning Pastry Chef Ashley Joslin
Our Head Pastry Chef, Ashley Joslin, received her degree in Pastry Arts from the highly esteemed Johnson & Wales University, where she trained under the top culinary experts in the world.
One of her instructors was Chef Keegan Gerhard, who has been named one of the top ten pastry chefs in the world. You may have seen Chef Keegan on television, as he has been the host and a judge on various Food Network shows.
After graduating from Johnson & Wales, Ashley attended the Notter School of Pastry Arts to learn the sugar art techniques of Chef Ewald Notter, the leading expert in pulled and blown sugar. Chef Notter has won National and World Pastry Team Championships, Pastry Chef of the Year, and the Coup du Monde in France.
Since her initial training, Ashley has earned numerous accolades for her work in pastry, including Cleveland Magazine's prestigious Silver Spoon award and Best Chocolate Cake in Cleveland. She has been featured in local magazines, appeared on Cleveland television shows and has even gotten to bake for President Barack Obama's staff. She was also honored to make a birthday cake for Senator Bob Dole. She has studied under multiple wedding cake experts and specializes in custom cake design.
While working as an executive pastry chef for popular Cleveland establishments, Ashley began Top Tier Cakes out of her home. Now with her own team in place, she has brought her vision to a full-service bakery and cake studio in Westlake, OH.
